Every Sunday
I can’t stop watching this video. I love the slow motion shots in this video.
Cloak Ox + Cedar Cultural Center
I was fortunate enough to shoot three nights at Cedar Cultural Center this weekend and what a great way to end, then with friends Cloak Ox. These guys have been in the recording studio working on some new material and I heard that there are some horns on the new album. They had time to set up a show with Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra and played some new material.
Pop Wagner
Pop Wagner can sure strum a guitar and has been playing folk music since before I was born. Wagner got to play with the pert guys this weekend at the cedar and even made a rap about them. I hope to see more of this fella in the future. Thanks pop for rockin’ that beautiful mustache. Check out some links:

Head for the Hills – Cedar Cultural Center
So I’ve been experimenting with black and whites the past few days and what a great opportunity then to shoot some photos of my Colorado friends Head for the Hills. When I arrived they had already been playing so I stepped right up to shoot some photos and there had been a seven foot gap from the stage to the crowd, so it made shooting photos very easy. Soon after the audience decided to join in and started doing the bluegrass dance I have never been able to describe, but I love it. Anyways after there set I got a chance to catch up with the guys backstage, Joe seemed to entertain the group quite well. I did a little Snoop Dogg photo-esque shoot with joe which had me cracking up. Whiskey Blanket is also hosting a host in Winona, Mn tonight and I recommend not to miss. It was great having some good Colorado Bluegrass for the night. Check out the photos for the night and let me know what you think. Check out some links to their website and be sure to add the on Facebook.

Channy Leaneagh + Toby Thomas Churchill
The preconceptions of my invite had been far from the actual results. Seeing as the venue is setup for more intimate environments and look to hold 20+ crowds on Wednesday night shows. I was pleased to see Channy Leaneaghs following centered at a place packed with friends, fellow photographers, journalist and local musicians. Toby Thomas Churchill was welcomed by playing with Leaneaghs backing band and welcomed this Duluth musician perfectly. I believe the new Polica album is a highly anticipated release this year and any chance to see Channy live is well worth it. I hope to do some photo work with these guys in the studio process for her solo album, but until then enjoy these couple photos I had snapped.

DOSH + Late Duster + Mike Lewis
after not playing for over 6 years, the original members of Late Duster assemble for one night at the Cedar Cultural center. The band had asked me to shoot some photos for this special event. Brian Olson had been flown out from his current city in San Francisco and has been excited to play this show for quite sometime. As I arrived, Brian and Mike had been unloading their equipment. I patiently awaited as the chairs had been slowly filling up. It had been a couple months since the last Dosh show and with my first experience with Mike Lewis joining, it was worth the wait. Since my time in the twin cities this past year, the music scene seems to keep me on my toes with all the collaborations with all these great artists. I feel apart of the community the more I reside in the cities. The respect for these musicians is more then what I could write, so here are some shots from the night.
