STIGMA Trailer

I’ve been hyped to see some footage that fellow colleagues Jeff Johns and Ryan Loughridge. They had shot a documentary on leprosy in the Far east awhile back. It is stunning what they have had to go through to get things up and running on project. Here is the trailer and I hope you share it with those around you. These guys are going to be big someday and I applaud their efforts in telling these stories. Love you Ryan and Jeff

Transition.

Sorry I’ve been neglecting my blog lately. It is due to the fact I am in a transition period with my equipment and I am in the process of redesigning my website. In the next coming months I hope to finish some video projects in Minneapolis. For the time being I found some submission videos to ANW4 from some homies back in Colorado. I used to roll with these guys back in the day and tried some parkour for a bit from Apex Movement instructor Amos Galileo Rendao who resides in Boulder Colorado. This collective group of individuals have embarked on many trips out west to compete in the Ninja Warrior trials and each year someone develops further into the show. Rendao taught me to practice one technical aspects of this sport each day and to set a simple goal and accomplish whatever it was and improve the next day. I have learned more from Amos then anyone I have ever known and if you happen to see him out and about I suggest you acquire some enlightenment from him. It is wild to see the progression my friend has made over the years and I wish him the best of luck on this years submission. here are some links to get more involved with this evolving sport.

Beach Scum + BIG SURe dude!

About a year and a half ago I was living in California and had a sudden change in the aspirations in my life. It was apparent that I wasn’t going to stay in California for the rest of my life. While out there I met a group of amazing friends who I would consider family. I still keep in contact with them and have received many letters from them this past year. We always talk about reconnecting in the future. Also it was how I got the nickname sure dude and we would run around skating, drinking beer, throwing shit in a bonfire on the beach, run naked through the fires, surf, bbq, watch gary busey flicks, Yell BEACHSCUM and SUREDUDE, Food stamps, tag up bathrooms, all cuddle up in one bed, breaking shit, get kicked out of Billy O’s, Zoey’s and art communities, chill at scum spot, hide wills leopard skin pants, paint, hot tub at scott soens house and play with his cat, learn how to fix a flat tire, build beer castles, empty bags of sand from our pants, shred, Birdfeeder shows, More bird feeder shows, dead cats, brats, franklin for short, The Growlers, Deek Alypse, Love birds, Edward Sharpe, Dans truck, never going to sleep, waking up jrrr or at least trying to, water fight in jrr’s kitchen, Will.i.am with an axe, will.i.ams karate, will.i.ams cat, Dan going to jail, Dans bad luck, trumpets on the beach, 4 loko, confirming Dane Reynolds actually eats food, the day I introduced Jrrr to dane, dane blowin out his tail, someone eating my goddamn burger, fuckin with Anne, bbqs in the camper, Wayne’s World breaking the dvd player, 50+ times watching Modern collective, not gettin a life, ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…. Our time was short lived and I happened to stumbled upon some videos we made while hanging out. Especially this Big Sur trip Dan, J.r. and I took before leaving to Hawaii. Who knew it would be the last time I would be in California, at least for awhile. I do miss you all of you Beachscum and hope we can tell our story some time soon. SUREDUDE!

Here are some collective videos of BeachScum:

Eric Arakawa

I love seeing videos like this. Makes me miss living in Waialua. The north shore community survives on individuals like this. Eric puts his heart and soul into all these boards and helps out future board shapers. I love this addition to the PROFESSIONal series. Enjoy all you surf bums.

Slow Motion Tokyo

I give mad props to great editors. Not many people can shoot slow-mo well, not only that but the ability to edit this effect well is a challenge. I noticed most videographers tend to let the scenes drag on and I quickly lose interest. Great job Alex lee.

Quiksilver Pro + Long Beach 8.27.11

Looks like this video was put together pre-Irene. The music
flows well with the slow shots. Good to see some east coast
waves crashing. These guys did an excellent job. Cheers guys

I enjoyed watching this video especially the barista part.
