As I spent most of the day dodging millions of people, through the subway, on the train, down the street, through the park and in the bathrooms. I tried to find subjects that displayed some sort of solitude through out the many faces of New York. My first experience in the big city has definitely intrigued my eye for street photography. I was thinking about my experience shooting street photography in the Twin Cities and how I would contribute to defining the look of Minnesotans. After my return I spent a day helping my buddy Rich clean up his place and he showed me this Taxi driver/photographer David Bradford and gave me some more well needed inspiration after the fact.
Caught some crazy light downtown. Looked like the end of the world. Its a nice and hot day out with the temp being around 20 degrees or so. I like cruising in this area of downtown. The spectrum building stands tall, almost makes me want to puke. When I was about 6 or 7 years old my family had moved to denver from montana. My father took us downtown for the first time and the buildings that had past by stood like giant robots. It was my first experience of the city and then is when I realized that we were very far from grandma and grandpas house. With exploration on my dads mind we headed atop one of the tallest buildings in denver. It felt as if I were on top of the world at such a young age. Sometimes I feel like I had never left that place.
The distance between plain view
Far
Trusting your heart
Forgiven
Reverberation in mixed sight
Retain love nor light
Carelessly Dropping pennies
Cashing our suicides
Listing pages from every book and cranny
The living in dead space a nice walk in hyphened chalk
Being there
Dead but happy
My feet walk me slow
Ill choose my apathy
When and where
I must go
I’m starting blogaday 2011 think to get the creative juices flowing and hope progress with writing and artistic ideas. Here is my first post. I had the opportunity to ride the bus to downtown st. Paul. For only living here about a month, I was interested in what the city had to offer. While waiting for a friend I stumbled upon an ice stupture display in the park. I have always heard of these things but never had seen one. It reminded me of seeing sand castles being built when I first moved to cali a couple years ago. The more I travel things seem to be the same in different ways. From what I have seen for a first impression, St. Paul has a very interactive community including an ice rink nearby. As a new home I highly anticipate this place to give a wonderful piece of mind for the months I am staying here.
