Hitch Hiking Chronicles

Shot this photo outside of Des Moines, IA in April 24,2012 on our way to Austin Texas. We had been dropped off by a state patrol officer who picked us up on the interstate and drove us about an hour south. I was a little shocked that he was so accommodating and let us know the rules of hitch hiking in the state. We waited patiently for another ride and had about 2 days to make it to Texas.

  1. Although the dangers of hitchhiking are many and diverse its must have been a unique way to travel. Riding in the back of a patrol car sans handcuffs can be equally daunting. Patience is a virtue.
