Head for the Hills – Cedar Cultural Center

So I’ve been experimenting with black and whites the past few days and what a great opportunity then to shoot some photos of my Colorado friends Head for the Hills. When I arrived they had already been playing so I stepped right up to shoot some photos and there had been a seven foot gap from the stage to the crowd, so it made shooting photos very easy. Soon after the audience decided to join in and started doing the bluegrass dance I have never been able to describe, but I love it. Anyways after there set I got a chance to catch up with the guys backstage, Joe seemed to entertain the group quite well. I did a little Snoop Dogg photo-esque shoot with joe which had me cracking up. Whiskey Blanket is also hosting a host in Winona, Mn tonight and I recommend not to miss. It was great having some good Colorado Bluegrass for the night. Check out the photos for the night and let me know what you think. Check out some links to their website and be sure to add the on Facebook.

The Portable Infinite

I got published in a couple music websites for some photos I did with the band Magic Castles. Anton Newcombe recently
signed these guys to his label – A Records.

As I sit. And I know you are awful quiet now….

here is another day of my exploration in black and white photography. I noticed a deviant quality in the Saint Paul community today.

The ambiance of clutter in the the coffee houses seem filled with anxious folks anticipating spring. We haven’t had much of a winter this year and

the site of empty buses and complacent smokers catch my eye.

lonely house

I got bored before work and shot some black and white which I rarely do.

Not a huge, at least from what I can produce. So here is my attempt to wow

you. Leave some comments or a sure dude. I wanna figure out how to turn the like button

into a sure dude button. Someday. Enjoy

Northern Oregon

I got some shots heading up north of Portland a couple weeks ago. The fog gave the shots a cool aesthetic.

sopa strike

I am writing to you as a voter in your district. I urge you to vote “no” on cloture for S. 968, the PROTECT IP Act, on Jan. 24th. The PROTECT IP Act is dangerous, ineffective, and short-sighted. It does not deserve floor consideration. I urge my representative to vote “no” on SOPA, the corresponding House bill.

Over coming days you’ll be hearing from the many businesses, advocacy organizations, and ordinary Americans who oppose this legislation because of the myriad ways in which it will stifle free speech and innovation. We hope you’ll take our concerns to heart and oppose this legislation by voting “no” on cloture.

Channy Leaneagh + Toby Thomas Churchill

The preconceptions of my invite had been far from the actual results. Seeing as the venue is setup for more intimate environments and look to hold 20+ crowds on Wednesday night shows. I was pleased to see Channy Leaneaghs following centered at a place packed with friends, fellow photographers, journalist and local musicians. Toby Thomas Churchill was welcomed by playing with Leaneaghs backing band and welcomed this Duluth musician perfectly. I believe the new Polica album is a highly anticipated release this year and any chance to see Channy live is well worth it. I hope to do some photo work with these guys in the studio process for her solo album, but until then enjoy these couple photos I had snapped.

Sconnie Wedding

Here are some photos from a wedding I shot in august. Out in the back woods of Wisconsin, this family made me feel extra welcome. I had such a blast doing photography for Bill and Jackie. During the wedding day it was overcast but we made the best of it and kept our smiles. I love you guys and hope all is well.
